The Netgear should be DHCP straight from the box if this is not the case do following listed in the screen shot provided.

Right click on Network Neighbourhood click Properties then double left click TCP/IP adaptor and then select specify IP, enter 192.168.0.2 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and click ok you be asked to reboot your pc if you are using win 98 /ME/NT / if you are using win 2000/xp/ you will not be prompted to reboot.

You need to set a Default Gateway this can be done by clicking the Gateway tab

And enter the IP address 192.168.0.1 and click adds this will allow your pc to talk to the neatgear router.

Once you have rebooted your pc you need to open a web browser and put the ip of

http://192.168.0.1 in the browser and click return this will give you a login prompted as shown.

In the screen listed you need to put the username of admin and password of password

And press return.

In the screen listed follow the set-up wizard. The default is set yes, you need to select no and click next.

You now have to do the config screen, which is as follows in screen shots

You will need to have your login information to hand and your ip address if you are going to specify an IP address.

You do not need to specify an Internet IP address, as you will get one assigned automatically

When a connection is made to altohiway.

You do not need to specify DNS server address, as you will get these automatically.

ISP Parameters for Internet access.

MTU is set to default. Multiplexing method is default. VC-based the VPI is set to (0) and the VCI is set to (38), you then need to click apply.

The Netgear will now save all the settings that you have entered which will then allow you to gain access to the Internet.
